Terms of service
Last updated: 12 September 2026.
Our agreement
Ring for Me is a service provided by ElementX Limited, New Zealand ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of Ring for Me, together with our acceptable use policy. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information. Contact us at support@ringforme.com.
Your account and call instructions
You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement and authority to act for anyone on whose behalf you use the service. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly about unauthorised access. Give accurate instructions and share personal information only when you have a lawful basis to do so.
Review the recipient, task, permitted disclosures, commitments and maximum credit charge before starting a call. When you authorise a connected agent, you allow it to act within the permissions you grant. You remain responsible for instructions you authorise; you can revoke future agent access in Connections.
What the service does
Our AI assistant calls supported New Zealand numbers, identifies itself as AI and keeps a text record of the conversation. It can ask questions and make reservations within your approved instructions. It cannot pay a business, pay a deposit, handle payment-card details or obtain passwords or one-time security codes. Payments for calling credits are separate from transactions with businesses you call.
AI can misunderstand or produce inaccurate results. Review the result and verify important arrangements directly with the business. We do not guarantee that a recipient will answer, accept a booking or provide a particular result. The service is not for emergencies or professional medical, legal or financial advice.
Credits, payment and refunds
Credits are prepaid units usable only for Ring for Me services. They are not deposits, money, transferable property or a cash balance. 100 credits represent US$1 of service value under our rate card. Buying in NZD or AUD does not change the number of credits in the selected pack.
Verified accounts receive the trial offer displayed at signup, currently 200 free credits without a card. Trial and promotional credits have no cash refund value. Creating accounts or otherwise manipulating the service to repeatedly claim an offer is not permitted.
Top-ups are one-time purchases through Stripe. We do not automatically recharge your balance or enrol you in a subscription. The Credit page and Checkout show the pack, payment currency and total price, including applicable tax. Your bank may impose separate conversion or payment fees. Purchased credits are added only after payment is confirmed.
We reserve the maximum approved credits when a call starts, charge for usage within that maximum and release unused reserved credits when the call is finalised. Busy, unanswered or unsuccessful calls can incur actual usage charges. See pricing for rates. A business's own fees or quoted prices are separate.
Credits do not expire. We do not offer routine cash refunds for a change of mind. Credit codes can have a separately disclosed redemption deadline. Contact support about unused purchased credit or a disputed charge. Trial credits cannot be exchanged for money, and any refund of a purchase is based on the amount actually paid, not the credit-to-service-value display.
If a call fails because of our service, we restore the affected call credits. We also provide refunds for service issues and incorrect or duplicate billing, as appropriate to the issue. Contact support with the call or purchase reference so we can investigate and arrange the correction or refund. This does not replace a cash refund or any other remedy you are entitled to by law. If we discontinue the service, we will arrange refunds for unused purchased credits. Refunds are processed through the original payment method where possible and the corresponding credit entitlement is removed.
Consumer rights and responsibility
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 or mandatory consumer laws that apply where you live. We do not require you to accept account credit instead of a refund owed by law.
You are responsible for your own unlawful conduct and for commitments you authorise with a recipient. We remain responsible for our obligations under these terms and applicable law. A third-party outage or an AI error does not remove your statutory rights.
Suspension, closure and changes
We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, a security threat, disputed payments, legal requirements or operational problems. Where practicable we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it. Contact support if you believe a restriction is wrong. Suspension does not automatically forfeit unused purchased credits or statutory refund rights.
You can stop using the service at any time and request account closure through support. Charges for calls already authorised remain payable within their approved caps. Our privacy notice explains records we may need to retain after closure.
We may change these terms and future prices, with reasonable notice of material changes. Changes will not retrospectively increase an approved call cap or alter the price of a completed purchase. If a material change adversely affects unused purchased credits, contact us to close your account and arrange a refund of those credits.
Law and disputes
New Zealand law governs this agreement. New Zealand courts and tribunals have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not remove mandatory protections or your right to bring a claim in a forum available under the law where you live. Please contact support first so we can try to resolve a concern; this does not prevent you using a regulator, tribunal or court.
